Prakruti & Vikruti Aug 2018To identify with the soul is to identify with a higher source which is not bound by the duality. As my Guru, Sri Chinmoy, would say, “earth-bound” and “heaven-free”. To reach that consciousness our identification of the soul does not mean that you disregard the earthly duality, but you accept, have compassion and strive for a higher consciousness and an understanding of freedom.
To identify and deal with empathic behaviour one must stay still, study and observe our own emotional landscape. Empathic behaviour is most powerful in the prana. If we are around a group of people who are laughing, we laugh. If we are around a group of people who are crying we cry. If you are aware of your own prana within yourself you will be protected from other’s anger, sadness, and be of compassionate service to them. This is simply nature. It is possible to observe and to go beyond and know/observe when your prana is being bound by others. We can be of service and be compassionate without being self-absorbed/narcissistic and without being empathic/bound by that emotion.
To observe transformation one has to observe changes in your own nature. If you are insecure or fearful of something and someone. Observe that quality and transform into a little more security or a little less fear. This is observable when you have changes in yourself from being upset, angry or sad when a similar situation occurs and you are less affected. You can watch this emotional rhythm and observe that your body, vital and mind is in a more observing pattern but not being devastated by that emotion.
In the passing or grieving of a dear one, at that point, enmeshment with that dear one may be amplified. One has to understand that the different constitutions express grieving differently. The vata may escape / disassociate or move away from the grieving process, this may be the way they deal with grief, but they may still grieve and be enmeshed with the dear one. In the pitta, anger may manifest first and in kapha intense sadness followed by other emotions.
If you are aware of vata, pitta, kapha you will give everyone the time and place to deal with the grief in the way that is correct for their dominant dosha including yourself. In duo-dosha or triple-dosha patterns the observation may be more complex and they may appear to be flipping between emotions. Be patient and observe. The vata person's disassociation may be amplified, the pitta’s anger may be amplified and kapha’s melancholy maybe amplified to a place that may not make sense. However, if you observe in relation to constitutional law, you will gain more understanding and compassion toward them. Knowing that they need to express grief in the emotion is correct for themselves, and not to make a judgement on that. If the emotion is not transformed and resolved it is very possible that this will resurface at a later date with emotional consequences such as an emotional crash. <style> </style>
